LOW ENERGY LIGHT BULBS
WOULD YOU LIKE some low energy light bulbs free of charge. We have some available They come in pairs 1 18 watt = 100 watt 1 8 watt = 40 watt.
Just ask Tony Burke at the end of Monday afternoon’s Meeting or if you are not able to be there ask a friend to collect some for you.
EVENTS CO-ORDINATOR
Our last ‘Speaker Finder’, Kate Hydes, arranged the above events together with the rest of the programme for 2009.
The present Committee is well under way with the arrangements for 2010 but we are looking for someone who will continue with the 2010 programme. It may seem that we are working well in advance but GOOD Speakers are booked up two year’s ahead.
We are also hoping to introduce a more varied programme bearing in mind how well you received the Illusionist in September and Eleanor Turner, the Harpist, in October.
If you would like to try this but are not sure what it entails please have a chat with Kate Hydes or Jackie Searl our Secretary. We would be delighted to hear from you.
Remember we already have 2009 and a lot of 2010 arranged so you would have a little time to adjust to what is required.
PUBLICITY OFFICER
We are sorry to report that Dave Rippon has decided to resign as Publicity Officer. He has done an excellent job in getting our events and news published in the local newspapers. We would like to thank him for all his hard work and are very sorry to see him go.
This means, of course, that we have another vacancy, which we need to fill.
If any of you have experience in publishing or the media and would be prepared to help out in this way we would be very pleased to hear from you.
Maybe you would like to see yourself in print on a regular basis? If so just have a chat with Tony Burke, our Chairman, or another member of the Committee.
Although it is preferable that the Publicity Officer and the Events Organiser are members of the Committee it is not strictly necessary. We have the facility to co-opt two members to carry out specific roles.
ANIMALS
Just a little something to fill in a spare moment.
Each of these animals has one letter replaced by another. If you write down the letters that have been replaced you will spell out another animal. What is it? [No prize – just for fun. Answer at the bottom of the page – no peeking].
